CENTRALETTES:
Auditions for Centralette, the dance line that performs with the band, are held in early March and are open to any high school
senior and ECCC student. Returning Centralettes
will be required to re-audition for the second year. This one day audition will consist of
several dances and dance fundamentals. Judging will be
conducted by the Director of Bands and Centralette
Coordinator. Auditions will be held April 8 2009, at
1:00 p.m. with a
REQUIRED workshop for all candidates on March 26 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m.

WALL O' SOUND DRUM LINE:
Senior members in the East Central Community College recruiting district, recommended by their directors, are
invited to audition for a position, pending approval by the Assistant Director/ Percussion Instructor and
openings available. An audition is required to match players abilities with the correct instrument.
Scholarships are not final until you are placed on the
line. All other interested percussionists must contact Mr. Brownlee for an interview and audition.
Auditions will be held March 10th, 2009 |

THE COLLEGIANS:
Auditions for the Collegians, EC's rock and roll band, are held the second Monday and Tuesday of the fall term. Vocalists will be interviewed by Mr. Carson, and will perform one vocal number on
stage, in front of a large audience made up of the other candidates and the public. All vocalists must re-audition each year. Positions for guitar, bass, drum set, keyboard, and horns will also be held at
this time. Music reading is required for keyboard, bass and horn players. All instrumentalists must re-audition each year. Openings are also available for technicians, pending an interview with Mr.
Carson. |

CONCERT BAND:
Concert Band auditions are held
in November every fall for the spring semester. All concert band members are required to be in fall marching band in order to receive a scholarship. Auditions
will consist of scales and sight reading. |

JAZZ BAND:
Jazz Band positions are available for trumpet, trombone, saxophone, rhythm section and vocalist. Members will be drawn from the top chair positions in the Concert Band. |

PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE:
Percussion Ensemble auditions are held
the week of Concert Band tryouts. Percussionists from the Concert Band, and those who were not chosen for Concert Band, may audition for this
group. |

EC BRASS:
EC Brass, the college's brass quintet, is selected by Mr. Carson from members of the Concert Band. No audition will be held. |

COLOR GUARD:
Senior members who have been on their high school color guard for two years or more are
invited to audition, pending a recommendation from their director, and openings available. All color guard
members must be willing to twirl/learn flag, rifle, and sabre, and attend the color guard audition in
April. All other interested parties must set up an audition with the color guard instructor and Mr. Carson. The deadline to return scholarships
is March 1st. A required audition/clinic will be held in
April 15th 2009, at 4:00 in the south campus Gym. All
flags/equipment and water will be provided. |

PIT ORCHESTRA:
This small ensemble plays for the spring musical, and members are selected by Mr. Carson from the Concert Band. Priority is given to returning pit orchestra members. No audition will be
held. |

ASSISTANT DRUM MAJOR:
Auditions for Assistant Drum Major are held in late February. This position is open to any senior Drum Major in the East Central Community College recruiting district. The audition will
consist of a prepared conducting routine to a tape of the candidate's choice, conducting patterns, commands, and an interview. A mace routine is optional. The present assistant will move up to Head Drum
Major. Students who have not had previous experience will not be permitted to audition for this position.
